^^^^^^this.

Is it even possible to find it easy…?

I’m a hunter, and tried dressage once and it was too difficult.

You bet dressage is hard. Jumpers don’t know the half of it.

Anyone have tips for how to bond with a horse that’s not very personable?

All I want is to be friends with Pop. I’m doing all I can - I graze him after my lessons and give him treats and everything.

My new barn is full service, and I’m still learning my way around and stuff, so I don’t tack up. Plus, I don’t know how to polo wrap or put on bell boots, and he wears both. So I can’t do it myself, really.

That’s a disadvantage because I know bonding comes with grooming and tacking, and just generally spending time with them.

Storm was just like Pop - I see so much of Stormy in him every day. But I took care of Storm all by myself. It’s just not an option with Pop, I don’t fit in enough yet. What do I do?

Anyone have advice? Please, I just want to be happy with this horse. I want him to know that I’m here for him and we can do it together. Have you ever felt lost on an animal before?
